Introducing the improved PV power model

Given this update, the PV Tuning is no longer required or supported.

With the March 2021 launch of our updated Utility Scale offering, powered by pvlib, we put the 'power' in the hands of the user to individualise the PV power model for each of their sites. By introducing advanced features such as PV module and inverter selections, detailed soiling & terrain impacts and much more - the role of PV tuning in accurate modelling and forecasting has drawn to a close.

For users of the Utility Scale sites product, log into the API Toolkit and select 'Edit Site' to review the detailed metadata options available to you. For more information, you can review our Input Data Parameters article collection and send us any questions you have.

For users of the Rooftop PV sites product, we will be decommissioning this endpoint for future commercial use. However, Rooftop PV sites will still be available to hobbyists for modelling and forecasting the power output of their home PV systems. Since we will be removing the PV Tuning capability, we are now providing hobbyists with the ability to add a second PV site at their home location, in order to handle split-array set-ups.

This change has no effect for the Rooftop PV Power endpoints, and the Advanced PV Power endpoints.
